BIOGRAPHY

Ronald Chandler, Ph.D. received his B.S. in Biology at Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville, Tennessee, and his Ph.D. in Molecular Physiology and Biophysics from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Chandler did his postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Dr. Terry Magnuson at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The Chandler lab is interested in the molecular mechanisms by which chromatin remodeling and steroid hormone signaling regulates chromatin biology, epigenetics, and transcription in the uterine endometrium, and how disruption of these mechanisms contributes to malignancies, such as endometrial cancer and endometriosis-associated ovarian cancer, and benign diseases, such as adenomyosis and endometriosis. Dr. Chandler’s lab uses animal models of disease, cell-based approaches and functional genomics.
