Letter from Chair

leach_largeThe Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine is committed to educating exemplary physicians discovering and disseminating impactful knowledge and providing service within our university and health system partners. We provide undergraduate medical education in obstetrics and gynecology mentoring those who go on to choose this specialty as a career choice. We are focused on ensuring that our research is translated to the health care needs of women across their life course and the communities where they reside. As a unified department with Henry Ford Health, our accomplished researchers and their teams including physicians, nurses, sociologists, clinical translational scientists and epidemiologists and graduate students are focused on the complex biological and public health underpinnings that threaten women’s health. These accomplishments are recognized by being one of the top NIH funded departments in the country. Our educational and research programs rest on three departmental pillars, which include supporting unparalleled health services to women, educating our next generation of physicians and researchers, and discovering and disseminating innovative medical knowledge. We look forward to sharing with you the various departmental programs and the impact they have on the everyday lives of women. Sincerely,

Sincerely,

Richard E. Leach, M.D., FACOG, FACS
