Making Strides of West Michigan

Summary

Dr. Chandler, with the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, was awarded a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship from the American Cancer Society to pursue postdoctoral research in the Laboratory of Dr. Terry Magnuson and Department of Genetics at theUniversity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The long-term goals of Dr. Chandler’s research are to elucidate the molecular and cellular events required to maintain cellular homeostasis in the female reproductive tract and to determine how these processes go awry in inflammation-associated gynecologic diseases and associated cancers.

Dr. Chandler is located within the new Michigan State University Grand Rapids Research Center.

He also serves on the volunteer Event Leadership Team for the Relay For Life of Sparta (Michigan) and is a volunteer member of the American Cancer Society’s peer review board, reviewing grant submissions during each of the funding cycles.
