Research Assistant Professor
Katie Martin received her BS in General Biology from Grand Valley State University in 2006. She received her PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Michigan State University in 2011 where she studied the role of lipid phosphatases in autophagy. Following her doctoral training, she worked as a Scientific Project Leader at the Van Andel Research Institute and joined the Michigan State University OB/GYN department as a Research Assistant Professor in the laboratory of Jeffrey MacKeigan in 2017.
Katie’s research interests include the MTOR/autophagy signaling network, the identification of new targets for molecularly-guided therapeutics, and tumor genomics.
